Local Roots Freedom Project

The Local Roots Freedom Project is the heartbeat initiative of Local Roots Holdings, which includes Local Roots Landscaping, FRWRD Coaching, and Landscape Supply of Pittsburgh. This project represents our deepest purpose as a company. We believe business is a tool for impact. We believe generosity is leadership. And we believe freedom is worth fighting for.

Human trafficking is one of the greatest injustices of our time. It destroys innocence, identity, and human dignity. If we have the ability to help, then we have the responsibility to act. As a team and as leaders, we refuse to look away.

Our vision is clear. Raise and donate one million dollars in ten years to fight human trafficking and help rescue and restore two thousand victims impacted by this horrific sin. It is supported by all our companies and woven into the DNA of our work. Profit is fuel, not the finish line. Impact is the point.

The way we accomplish this vision is purposeful and practical. The Local Roots Freedom Project is funded through multiple streams of generosity across Local Roots Landscaping, FRWRD Coaching, and Landscape Supply of Pittsburgh. A percentage of our annual profit is dedicated to this mission, and we expand the impact through benefit dinners, fundraising events, and intentional community involvement. We also tie the initiative into our employee scorecards, offering a company match that allows our team to participate directly in the mission. Clients have the option to round up on projects to contribute to the Freedom Project, and every referral from a client triggers a donation in their name. Each of these touchpoints creates a culture of shared ownership. Every job completed and every relationship formed strengthens the mission. Freedom becomes something we pursue together.

We partner with trusted frontline organizations that focus on rescue, restoration, and prevention. Their work is measurable and life-changing, and our goal is to support them consistently as our companies grow.
